Spanish Affair @TheLeela, Mumbai

Leela at Bombay is near the airport road and known to host businessmen. The property’s grandeur and usage of plantations to make it a destination for peace in this bustling city.

When I first read, Spanish food caught my eyes and I thought I had to try it.

We had an evening of wine from Torres and Spanish food by the poolside at Six Degrees.

How was the ambience?
It was a pretty evening with wines flowing, prawns cooking while the sound of fountains soothed & the sight of the poolside pleased

What did you do?

For vegetarians, we had spinach croquet which was smooth and potato paella . Also, we had mushroom paella. Not to forget the Spanish tradition of having many olives in your meal.

Would add, it was heavenly for non vegetarians with Serrano Ham and pequilo peppers and many others flowing. I didn’t try it but my friends who had this said this.

We had a cold soup viz Ajio blanc shooters which was weirdly nice. It was really different but tasted good.

Coming to the wine,
Tasted the Rose : De Caste which was good in its own way.

Then next up, I have hogged onto the desserts.

Aroz con leche : This was served in a pretty looking jar but didn’t taste great.
Creme catalana : This was delectable.

Polvorones almond cookies : These cookies were soft and crunchy and just nice.
We also tried the Churros. They were made at the time of serving. Chose chocolate and strawberries to go with as the strawberries balanced out the sweetness.

There were pretzels and macaroons too. And not to forget the orange sponge cake which is again a Spanish authenticity.

Ended it with, the chocolate flan.

My Spanish affair ended on a sweet note.
If you are fond of it, go and try it out!

Version 2.0 : Bombay Bronx at Breach Candy, Mumbai in its new avatar

Bombay Bronx has revamped itself . With quirky decors and adding Bombay feeling to it, this one of the favorite sobo places to chill and have a drink for the crowd. There are colorful chairs, Amitabh bachchan funky dialogue on a wall, huge jeep lying somewhere and ending with a flashy headlight themed bar

So usually I am not high about places which have Bombay style chaat food as I feel roadside is always better.

When they served me Bombay chakana, I was really impressed. The lotus stems sprayed with pepper, bhel, chips was all so yum.

Next up, I had the vegetarian platter. And I couldn’t complain. The baby corn was roasted nicely, also the mushroom was perfect.

Next up, had the cheese maggi which I found very okay. The truffle oil was overpowering.

The nachos was good. I mean it was normal.

The desserts had not yet started when I went there.

But one thing I really liked was my peach iced tea. I am not even joking but I gulped down three glasses. There was nothing unique but it was just a good refreshing iced tea.

Also the menu has picked up inspiration from various cuisines, they have thai curry, pizzas, indian fusions as well.

Overall liked the place for a chiller evening.

A crazy day of place hopping , all day , but for my dinner with my best girls , went to the good wife for a chiller music dinner !
Good food . Good spirits . Good vibes . Dim lights , chandeliers , doodle walls , candle light dinners and English songs sums up this place ! The food was great , specially the lasagne was outstanding !
But what I was more impressed was with the kind hospitality , the lady staff was so kind and ensured that we got a right beautiful corner . And usually they don’t do anything for birthdays , but when my girls asked , they presented this gorgeous dessert !

They have innovation & awe in every dish they bring . From crockery to the way they serve , all will give you a drool .
The Finding Nemo dish is beyond adorable . The ball made of mozzarella cheese topped with balsamic vinaigrette is so so amazing . Also the desserts what they have are exotic in pure sense . The cocktails what they offer are differently amazing !
