Tom khaa yaa

A creamy white broth with vegetable dumplings and pad thai noodles. Perfect for a chilli noon. It’s slightly on the spicy side but we’re sure you’re going to love this.
Rating- 5/5

Happy House Nachos

Crispy nachos with one of the best guacamole’s we have had. The cheese didn’t pair best w these nachos and we do think this dish is a little overpriced

BBQ Flatbread
Price- 329
Old school regular flat bread with nice gooey cheese is always a no brainer! I think it’s relatively big given it’s price point and a good dish to stick to if you’re not the mood of an experiment.
Rating- 4.5/5

Mumbai Manchow
Price- 399
A classic- Manchurian and Rice turned special and plated in the most beautiful way possible. Lavender coloured rice, manchurian balls and ginger tempura topped with warm gravy is a much awaited fancy twist to most of our favourite Chinese Cuisine.
Rating- 4/5

For desserts we tried their pool of Nutella which was the yummiest tart we have had. The staff was also kind enough to present to us their Valentine’s Day special dessert before time. It was a cute heart shaped mouse cake and it totally stole our hearts.

Overall we think this is a perfect place for a family get together. The staff is kind and helpful. The interiors small but gorgeous. They also have a terrace seating which is in the making.

The healthy way ! Hello protein house

Posted on Leave a comment

As a food blogger, there’s a constant dilemma of choosing between healthy and tasty food to post. But the Protein House (in Bandra) proves that healthy food and tasty food need not be mutually exclusive. Protein House offers a menu that is healthy yet very delicious.

Don’t get fooled by the small size or the quint ambience of the place, because this restaurant feels very cosy and homely to dine in. The staff is very nice and they will guide you through the menu without any problems. Coming to the menu, this is where all the magic of this place lies.

The place offers you your favourite dishes like pizzas and burgers, but with ingredients like kale, barley and ragi. This menu is wholesome and contains options for salads, appetizers, wraps and so much more. They claim that all the dishes of this menu contain at least 20-25 grams of protein. They also do not use any less-healthy ingredients like maida, sugar or butter. Each dish here is made only using olive oil or herb oil.

We loved the Hummus Trio; its bright, it looks good, and it tastes amazing! Vegetable Quinoa Barley Burger was also nice, and so was the Pizza Continental. We would also suggest you to ask what the soup of the day is, while ordering.

There are a lot of options here and the whole menu can easily be recommended. We also tried (and loved) the strawberry-watermelon smoothie. Talking about beverages, another one of our recommendations would be the watermelon-beet-amaranthus concoction (for the health-freaks out there).

So, in a nutshell, if you wanna have something healthy without compromising on taste, or if you wanna eat something tasty, without having to eat something that’s totally unhealthy, we would suggest you try out the Protein House!

Healthy eating at Sante Spa Cuisine, BKC

Located amidst the glass buildings of BKC, Santé Spa Cuisine as the name suggests is a restaurant that combines taste with health.

They offer a variety of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes that leave your taste buds satisfied. Apart from the food, Santé focuses on an overall healthy and eco friendly environment.

The decor of the restaurant is all eco friendly, the walls are covered with bamboo sticks and the lamps are made of recycled cardboard. The walls have art that depict our chakras and the music played is relaxing. The water is infused with tulsi and the glasses are made of copper. The quarter plates are made of Neem wood that acts as a disinfectant. Santés aim is to help you connect better with your inner self.

We started our meal with the beet root and spinach hummus served with Khakra. Both the flavours expressed their uniqueness and paired perfectly with the multigrain Khakra that Santé prepares themselves. The consistency is good and we’re sure you don’t miss out on this one.

Next we tried their charcoal basket with their in-house churned organic butters. It was super interesting to see bread served in black considering there was no artificial colour involved. The butters were creamy and flavourful.

Beverages: We tried their Dark Chocolate Milkshake and the Pink Lemonade.
The dark chocolate milkshake was gluten free and invoked only organic chocolate. It was definitely one of the best chocolate milkshakes we’ve had. You can’t tell the difference between a regular milkshake and this one so there is no compromise on taste.

This is perfect to indulge in when you’re craving something chocolate but don’t want to cheat on your diet.
The Pink Lemonade was one of its kind. Super refreshing and super light too.
The unique thing about the drinks is that they’re served with straws that are made of rolled up banana leaves.

Entrée: The piri piri crusted cottage cheese steak was served in pesto sauce made out of broccoli. The spicy piri piri and the creamy pesto balanced each other out perfectly. The cottage cheese was well cooked and marinated. The presentation was beautiful.

Desserts: We went for the Valrhona Chocolate Pie and the Chocolate Matcha Truffles.
The Valrhona chocolate pie was a crumbly chocolate cake that was gluten free. The flour was made of oats and it was topped with French chocolate. We highly recommend all sweet tooths to try this delicious yet healthy treat.

Inspired by Japanese delicacies, the Chocolate Matcha truffles had a melt in your mouth consistency. They’re fluffy yet soft. The dark chocolate and matcha powder go together perfectly.
The vegetables are grown organically in Indian farms and cooked in an open kitchen at Santé to maintain transparency.

Santé is not exactly what you call pocket friendly but for the value it serves you in terms of quality of its ingredients it’s definitely worth a shot.

Welcome to the newest little quaint place at Churchgate right near KC college.

This place is tiny with around 4-5 tables . It spells healthy food with good taste.
The entrance is adorable with cycle and little greens hanging.

We step into the place and are greeted by the warmest staff .

I have a look at the menu and my eyes fall onto
Color me red . It is a beet root based juice and tasted also great .

We also had fruit salad instead of salad and it was perfect . It had the perfect combination of all fruits and wholesomeness .

The burger was a bit dry which could be improvised .

We loved the sweet potato sandwich . It has less carbs and tasted good.

Can I please jump to my favourite part ? The desserts . They were fabulous. The mango decker has chocolate crumbles with fresh mango making a perfect balance of sour and sweet .

Coming to the staff , it is sweet.
What I liked more was the open kitchen and the hygiene perspective .

The place is great as it’s not exorbitantly priced yet has great options .
I would definitely come here for a healthy wholesome meal.

Buddha bowl, Deconstructed healthy salads and more !

Another addition to the pop up hut, this month is Buddha bowl which caters to healthy deconstructed salad dishes inspired from Asia like Vietnam, Taiwan and etc.
It’s a small joint more like a delivery space.
Location : Besides Hobby Ideas

Bao is a staple Taiwanese food. Gau Bao literally translated is cut bread.
Here they have added their twist of health

Tried the saute mushroom, lettuce, cucumber sriracha mayo. What I liked was the base was from buckwheat. Also they had other healthy options like jowar and quinoa.
Kai Sate bowl is with vermicelli rice and succulent paneer and mushroom marinated in spices with peanut sauce

Next up we had the Bong Chong Bowl.
Potato wedges seasoned in our spicy and tangy bong chong recipe nestled alongside farm fresh vegetables with a healthy serving of quinoa Pilaf . We really loved it. It was delicious, healthy and filling.

Then we had the Curry of the week
Green Thai curry with jasmine rice . The Thai curry 🍛 was delicious . It was smooth and the spunk to it.

They have chocolate brownie, vegan chocolate brownie.

In Beverages, they have Lemon grass iced tea and Orange mints sprintzer

The preparation time is around 20 minutes .

Overall loved their food. But my suggestion would be to order the food on scoots/ zomato/ Uber eats/ swiggy so you could cut down on the same .
