Brew some beer at Drifters

Kamala Mills compound is the city’s gastronomic heaven, with some of Mumbai’s (and ours) favourite restaurants, bars and cafes. This place has something for everyone!

One of the gem in this crown is a microbrewery called Drifters Brewing Co.

This place promises to serve the best handcrafted Eastern European beers in the city, and it delivers!

They have six unique beers from all across Europe, namely Apple Cider, Bavarian Hefeweizen, English Pale Ale, Milky Stout, Czech Pilsner and Belgian Witbier. These are brewed using the finest Czech malts and hops, and are completely natural and preservative-free. You’ll get to sip and taste each of these handcrafted brews, before you order your favourite one. They also have a ‘Drink More-Pay Less’ concept where you pay ₹260 for 1 – 5 pints of beer, ₹235 for 6-10 pints of beer and ₹220 for 11 – 15 pints of beer or more!

But this experience would be incomplete without some delicious food to compliment the beverage and thankfully, this place doesn’t disappoint .Drifters has a wide menu comprising of cuisines from all over the world, including Italian, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern food. From finger foods that make for the perfect bar snack to gourmet main course dishes, they have it all. Some of our favourites are Pita with Hummus and assorted dips, Mediterranean Pizza, Spanish Garlic vegetable soup, Asparagus & Zucchini sticks, Classic Bruschetta and Risotto Supreme.

We went for the Sunday ‘Jazz’ brunch and spent the afternoon swaying to the tunes of Karim and Lydia, brewery’s amazing performers. You can have the same experience for ₹1,699 with Unlimited Craft Beer and Food. They also host many events ranging from match-screenings, ladies’ nights to live stand-up gigs, karaoke nights and DJ nights.

Drifters has a very quaint, cosy vibe with wooden chairs, lean tables and muted lighting. But this place also has a fun side, with neon signs and beer pong tables, to soothing jazz and board games. The pillars on the side are either inspired by James Bond’s martini glasses or stolen straight from Mumbai’s gorgeous terminal two airport. They bind the whole place together. Also, the entire wall on the side is painted with wall art, depicting the brewing process.

So, to sum it all up, this place not only satisfies the need for a brewery with handcrafted beers in the city, but also offers a wide range of cuisines to go along with it.
