Bombay has a dearth for authentic Mexican food and that void has been filled by Xico !
Where?
Xico @Kamala Mills
How’s the ambience?
They have chosen to be authentic with vibrant colours splashing the place and Mexican tunes humming in the background
How’s the price?
It’s 4500 for two. It is expensive but portions are good along with complete authenticity.
What did you order?
Drinks :
Chia & Lime:
Knowing the wellness benefits of this drink, I found it as a great accompaniment with my meal.
Hortache:
It is a milk, water, rice based drink. I didn’t like it so much
Food :
1. Xico’S famous guacamole
Prepared table side for two or more
Served with Warm tortilla chips and trio house made salsa
Rs 650
I absolutely LOVED it! It is so so fresh. While it’s made, the smell enraptures you and tastes fabulous
There is everything Mexican about the menu from Flautas to bocadillos (appetisers in Mexican)
2. Tacos 🌮
Aguacate served 3 per order on corn tortillas with beer battered avocado 🥑 topped with black bean pico de gallo, cucumber 🥒 yoghurt and queso fresco
I don’t know what more to say as again this was so authentic.
3. Quesadillas
Crispy griddles flour tortillas with a mixture of cheeses
Enfrijolada
Black beans, mixed vegetables, serrano salsa, charred green onions
The portion size is HUGE. Easily a maincourse for two people. Try the cheese one, it would be better
4. Burritos 🌯
Bean and cheese
Fried black beans, green rice, mix cheese, pico de gallo, cotijo
Again this is HUGE. I liked the black beans less. Would rather recommend for the other one.
Desserts:
1. We had the Mexican Chocolate Vegan cake with gaucamole on the side and topped with strawberry.
Absolutely had a blast. The chocolate was rich and delicious. Gaucamole just added that balance in flavours!
Anything else?
We saw a lot of scootsy parcels being sent. So if you don’t wana get out of home, you could try that
Overall?
Loved it! Sometimes splurging is fine if they serve authentic good food.
